CENTRAL TO EVERYTHING
One of the most convenient and desirable neighborhoods on Manhattan’s East Side, Kips Bay offers a diverse mix of dining, shopping and retail options, while easily walkable to several parks and subway lines. Quiet yet vibrant, Kips Bay embodies residential living at its best — a relaxed neighborhood with a lively street life and plenty of entertainment venues. The neighborhood’s central location makes it easy to access downtown, the FDR for getaways to upstate or the Hamptons. For joggers, bikers and picnickers, The East River Parks offers opportunities to exercise or relax, all with great views of the river, the bridges and Brooklyn.
TWO DAYS OF INFAMY
During the American Revolutionary War, five British warships sailed up the East River to Kips Bay, launching a surprise attack on Washington’s forces. The English routed the Revolutionaries. However, the following day, Washington decisively won the Battle of Harlem Heights, his first battlefield victory of the war.
IF WARHOL DRANK
Inspired by teetotaler Andy Warhol’s “factory,” The Factory 380 is lively eatery and watering hole, slaking thirsts and sating appetites, both day and night, in an arty environment replete with a hidden speakeasy.
